Brief (1-2min) Downtime
We had a 1-2 minute outtage due to changes to our infrastructure.
On Tuesday December 9, 2025, at 9:49 AM ET, while testing some changes to a non-production staging site, the production site (https://pro.grantseeker.io) became temporarily unavailable. The issue resolved itself within a minute or two.
We are migrating some services from Google App Engine to Google Cloud Run, which required us to add additional hostnames to a Google-managed SSL Certificate which is hosted by a Google Load Balancer that routes traffic going to all of our sites. We were testing this update this morning on our non-production staging site. It was our understanding and belief that this would not disrupt the production site, as the new certificate should have been created before the old one was destroyed. However, when we made the change to create the new certificate, the production site (https://pro.grantseeker.io) was briefly unavailable. We received alert notifications about this on Slack and also via email; when we went to investigate, the site was already working again. We are following up with Google to determine if there is a way to make these sorts of changes without incurring downtime.
